The 7-Step Wash Your Rug Gets in Hollywood

No shortcuts and no mystery: here is exactly what happens between the day we pick your rug up and the day it’s back on your floor.

Why so many steps?

What does a proper rug wash actually involve?

Every rug that comes through our door is different — different fibers, different dyes, different construction, different problems. So the method is matched to the rug, not the other way around.

The sequence below is the discipline that protects your rug at every stage. Nothing gets skipped, and nothing gets done to your rug that you haven’t approved first.

Pickup & initial inspection

A technician comes to your home or office anywhere in the Hollywood area, moves furniture where needed, and takes the rug to our facility. Condition is noted at your door, so there are no surprises later.

Detailed inspection

At the facility, a rug specialist measures the rug and examines it closely: fiber, construction, dye stability, and pre-existing issues — dry or wet rot, mold and mildew, color bleeding, browning, fading, worn fringe, pet contamination. If repair should happen before washing, we call you with a recommendation and an estimate. Nothing proceeds without your approval.

Dusting, both sides

Before any water, the rug is vibrated on both faces with dedicated dusting equipment — tens of thousands of harmonic vibrations per minute shaking loose the deep sediment a household vacuum can never reach. It’s common to see pounds of fine grit come out of a single rug.

Immersion wash & clear-water rinse

The rug is tested for colorfastness first — that test decides how much moisture and which gentle cleaning agents the rug can safely take. Then it’s washed by hand and rinsed, repeatedly, until the water leaving the rug runs completely clear.

Air drying

Rugs dry in moving air — some hung so gravity pulls the water down and out, others laid flat, depending on construction. In South Florida, thorough drying is not a detail; it’s what stands between your rug and mildew.

Fringe cleaning & grooming

Once dry, the fringe gets its own attention: cleaned, hand-combed, and the edges trimmed so the rug looks finished end to end.

Delivery

We bring the rug back, move the furniture that needs moving, and lay it exactly where it lives. You inspect it with us before we leave.

Most rugs are home again within 1–2 weeks
